just wondering, what are some of the sororities at sc along with their reputations on rushing, the girls, philanthropies, etc.?

^ I am interested in knowing as well.

hottest girls...haha, nice way to describe our sororities, sirwatson!

I wonder if geishagirl was looking for an answer from a girl's prospective, or a gender-neutral prospective!

thanks...chuckels

beammeup4, can you enlighten us any further? with some objective facts (how big they are) and each house's reputation (subjective stuff, like are they academic or promiscuous? which one has the biggest presence among students?)

It would also be good if you could second some of the things sirwatson said, or contradict them.

if my mom was a dg at usc.....does that help me at all

While you are at it, why don't you list the frats in the same way you listed the sororities...

^ No, you should make a different thread for fraternities.

here's some threads from last year

i really dont get it...

like whats the rushing process? ...

I unfortunately cannot say much about any of the Greek life here at USC, except for the fact that more than half my hall have gone Greek during the year! I will say that we do have a Christian fraternity here (Alpha Gamma Omega) at USC that has really broken the mold in terms of Greek stereotypes without changing the concept of fraternity.

You probably shouldn't worry about frats or sororities at this point. You'll be free to ask your orientation advisors about it during freshman orientation, and during and after Welcome Week, all the houses will be open for tours and special rush week events. Just know that they do exist and will be looking for new house brothers and sisters this fall.

To the best of my knowledge, RUSHING is the term for basically attending different activities the house puts on during "rush week", getting to know the guys, and seeing whether or not that frat is for you. There is absolutely no alcohol during rush week. At the end of rush week, the active brothers of the house will offer bids to those are interested in the fraternity and who they feel would fit in. If you accept the bid, then you begin the process of PLEDGING, which includes weekly meetings, various tasks sometimes daily (which I cannot disclose), memorizing the Greek alphabet, house history, etc., being interviewed by each active brother, and having mandatory study hours each week. If you survive these tests, which last just about one semester, then you are initiated and become and active brother.

My two fav houses

Kappa Kappa Gamma - Hottest house on the row this year with an amazing pledge class. Very affluent house with drop dead gorgeous girls. Some may be snobby, but what top tier house wouldn't be?

Kappa Alpha Theta - These girls come to social fraternity events in force, as opposed to other houses which often flake. The best overall house in my opinion; they have the grades (highest overall row GPA), beautiful and accostable girls.

Accostable, what an interesting word choice. Hmm, turns out there's a secondary meaning to that word I had never known before.

To protokurios- Aren't you a current student? What's your opinion?

(Right now I think Theta is my fav choice.)

I'm not really familiar with the Greek system at USC, so sorry, I can't really write anything helpful. I am way uncool. :)

jenny: Are you smart, beautiful, and accostable? :p

Wow, that's an amazing combination!

TRUE, tho it would depend on what your definition of accostable is... :P
I looked it up (and 'accost' as well) and there are ~3 possible meanings:
1. approachable, yes
2. challenging, eh... sometimes
3. -something too vulgar to write here- So I should hope I'm not THAT

Heyyyyy...I didn't know accost meant "that." :p

So off-topic. Sorry. :D

lol...that's good stuff
