I'm really interested in being in a sorority at UNC. Does anyone know if tranfers usually rush? Would it be awkward being a junior transfer during rush? Also, do a lot of people get cut without a bid anywhere, or do most people end up getting a bid at one sorority at least...? Any info would be great :) Thanks!

I have a son, but he rushed as a junior transfer. He has felt that the fraternity helped tremendously in meeting a large group of people quickly. He is glad he went this route.

A lot of transfer DO rush! It won't be awkward being a junior transfer rushing at all since everyone is in the same awkward what-do-i-do/say boat. However, the odds are against you in the rush process since they do take GPA in consideration as a huge part for upperclassman, which is something freshman do not have to worry about. I do know a couple juniors that got bids from great sororities AND most people DO get a bid from a sorority. There is a new rule that if you pref (round 4) 3 (or is it 2? not sure) sororities, you are guaranteed a bid. I highly recommend rushing and joining a sorority.
