Kay so im a junior and Im deciding on colleges to study Oceanography and UCSD apparently has a good program but i want to know a little bout the social scene.

Should I join a sorority? And if I should which ones are the best and for what reasons? Worst? Apparently UCSD isnt a party school but are there still fun partiess?

O and if anyones in a Sorority whats the best and worst part about it!

Oooh yay I am in a sorority :)

No matter what school you go to, I would highly recommend joining a sorority. It’s hard to keep this short and describe all the benefits, but basically I’ve made the best friends of my life. It is always a fun time, there are multiple events going on every single weekend and it keeps me busy. It makes school feel smaller because you see people from the greek system everywhere. My friends who didn’t rush this year are going through in the fall because they see how much fun it is!

There are definitely fun parties haha and I am biased but I would say a large percentage of them are within the Greek system. It is a lot of fun trust me.
As for your questions about best and worst- all the sororities have great sisterhoods and you’ll know which one is best for you when you go through recruitment.

Best part - lifelong friends. Worst part - I think people not in the Greek system make assumptions about me which are completely false.

Are you a junior in HS? you still have tonnns of time to think about this don’t worry yet!

Hmm good information but I just read there arent any Sorority houses? so how does that work you all just live in a bunch of different dorms and then get together? im kinda confused… AND there is a lot of racism in the Sororities?

That’s right there are no sorority houses but it is still a good time, parties are held at huge houses off campus and it is never a problem. I like it because it makes dues cheaper! Basically for meetings we have them on campus in classrooms and then any events are off campus at venues downtown, etc.

I am not sure about the racist part. I want to say no… I feel like there is a good blend of people in every sorority.
