Sorority Dues- How can you pay them?

Hello! So basically my queastion is how do you affor being in a sorority? My family has no money and so I'm going to be taking on all my expenses. any advice? I know maybe it sounds weird but being in a sorority has always been something important to me.

Sorry - *Afford.

I’m pretty sure a lot of sororities have or are open to payment plans. Go to the Panhellenic council at your school and ask about alternative financial options.

Most, if not all, sororities do have payment plans, and you can use loans to help defray the costs as well. In addition, when you’re an initiated member, many sororities have national scholarships and grants you can compete for, as well as emergency grants.

You can also get an on-campus job, such as in dining services or something.

Please do not take out loans for sorority dues like soccer suggests. That is a terrible idea.

You either need to get aid through the sorority or get a job.

Thank you all so much, I feel so much better!
I feel so silly for not thinking about paymet plans!

@romani–I know plenty of people who considered that to be room and board and thus included it in college loans, because you live in the chapter house for 3 years at my school. Don’t jump to assumptions.
