Sorority help

I will be rushing this fall at Texas A&M as a sophomore! However, my mom as well as her friends have never been in Greek so it has been a challenge. I have been reaching out local alumnae groups and others for the past few months for an alum to help write a recruitment information form for me but I have yet to receive a response. I would appreciate any help. Would anyone (alum) please volunteer their time and write one for me? I literally have none and I am freaking out because joining sorority means so much to me and I know it will help me as a person and my career.

Have you asked your teachers? Your friends’ moms?

@yauponredux yes I have, my professors were not affiliated in Greek. I have only obtained one RIF from a friend’s friend and that is it.

Some recommendations for schools that require recommendations come through the national organization. Many schools are dropping the required recommendations because they are really just a repeat of the information on the registration (gpa, interests, employment and volunteer activities), and with some schools having 2000 girls participating in recruitment, the paperwork gets out of hand. I had a problem writing a rec for my own niece as I didn’t know her gpa or some other information.

So, see if the recs are required and then reach out to the local organizations again. Many are inactive during the summer and it might be a matter of finding someone to get your information to the right person.

@twoinanddone my school requires them, I reached out again last week and now I feel like I’m annoying them because nobody has replied :frowning: Thanks though
