Sorority Recommendation Letters

Are there any active sorority members (or alumni) here that would be willing to help me out? I’m transferring to Texas State University this fall and I’ve decided to participate in rush. This is a new thing for me. No one in my family has ever been in a sorority, so I can’t get a rec letter from any of them. I’ve asked friends, family, friends of family, friends of friends…all with no luck. I hear it’s impossible to get a bid with out a rec letter–and I don’t want to be looked over because of it. If any of you could help me out, I would be so greatful. If you know anyone who could help me, that’s great too. The sororities they have at Texas State are–
Alpha Delta Pi
Alpha Xi Delta
Chi Omega
Delta Gamma
Delta Zeta
Gamma Phi Beta
Zeta Tau Alpha
Even if you don’t have any affiliation to these chapters, any advice you can give me would be so appreciated. I would love to hear your experiences with rush/sorority life.
If any of you belong to one of these chapters and are willing to help me out, shoot me a message and I’ll get you my resume, pictures and transcripts. Again, it would mean so much to me–I really want to be a part of that kind of sisterhood. Thanks for reading.

Does your hometown have a Panhellenic association? Sometimes they can help with recs.

Does the rec letter have to be from someone affiliated?

Yes, the rec letter should be from someone affiliated. Call the panhell organization in your town or contact the national organizations and they will have someone contact you.
