Typically the recommendations and letters of support come from alums. I do think there are a few sororities that allow actives to write letters, but those are definitely the exception not the norm. Here’s the address for the National Panhellenic Conference website. It lists all member organizations and their national websites. [National Panhellenic Conference](http://www.npcwomen.org/undergrads/member-organizations.aspx)
You might be able to get some more information there.

Each Inter/national sorority has its own policies. Some do not allow collegians to write recs at all while others allow collegians to write them to any campus except their own, and some allow it regardless. Sorry I can’t be more specific because I don’t know which orgs (aside from my own) follow which policy.

those who want to go thru Rush need to start getting their recs arranged now. If you don’t know anyone to ask, the website has a link that can help you. In the meantime ask around at work or your neighborhood, you may be surprised to find out who was in a sorority.

Don’t forget to ask at school for recommendations… Many teachers at our school district were greek. We waited until after school was out last year! Big mistake.

Talk it up while you are still seeing classmates / parents everyone knows someone.

Keep a list of the chapters at UA with you. I know that many of the folks we thought we could get recs from did not have chapters at UA (yet!) Lots of Delta Gammas where we live!

Finally D was talking to a young mother at a swim meet & she helped get at least 8 recommendations all from her neighbors!! Very nice of her to help! She had followed my Ds swimming career over the years!
