Sorority Spring Rush v Fall Rush as a Sophomore

Hey guys! So I'm a freshman at UF right now, and I had originally decided not to rush, but after being on campus, I've changed my mind, and really want to rush a sorority! I wish I would have figured this out sooner and gone through fall rush but... it's September. Anyways, I wanted to know everyone's opinions on UF's Panhellenic Spring Rush versus waiting until Sophomore year to do fall rush.

What's spring rush like? Also, I know that not all of the chapters give out bids. I don't know ANYTHING about the different chapters, and would like to keep my options open before committing to one. Does spring give you enough time to figure out which one is the right fit? Or should I just wait until fall? Will being a sophomore hurt my chances?

Thanks in advanced for any advice you have! <3

Daughter didn’t rush freshman year. Regretted it. Didn’t go through rush in spring. Some of her friends did. Many of the sororities didn’t have any open slots. None of the three got bids. Totally bummed. All 3 plus daughter went through rush this fall. All 4 got bids, several to their top choice. All to sororities they are very happy with. My daughter is very glad she pledged and happier with her life at UF. Makes a very big school, smaller. No real downside to rushing in spring, just be prepared to be disappointed but don’t let it get you down.
