<p>well.. i know this really doesn't have anything to do with columbia, but i thought it'd be a gtreat place for this post. my school has no National Honor Society...hasn't had one since the 70's. so i wanted to start one. but what exactly do you do in NHS. i read the info on the sight, and i guess it helped a little. but i would like to know what other branches in different areas do. is it like a key club where you do services? help please!</p>
<p>At my school, it's pretty much a club where you have to have certain requirements to get in (GPA, essay, etc), and then you sign up for activities (community service or school related stuff...we put on an international day, teacher appreciation day, etc), then you do those activities and get points. It's pretty much a joke though...probably 75% of those apply will get in, and then people only join it so "it'll look good on their college app" (this is debatable).</p>
