Sorry, I was talking to my daughter again and she wants to send her appeal letter for the Fall, but she's afraid that if they accept her letter, she HAS to go to that school. She's still pretty torn between ucsd and ucla and she wants to visit them and see how she feels about them, however the deadline for appeals is coming up soon and she wants to send her letters within the week. So, does anybody know whether you are required to go to the school if they accept your appeal or not? Thank you for your help once again.

I can't imagine that you would be required to attend your appeal school. You might have gotten into UCB in the meantime and chose to go there, or another private might have offered you a full scholarship, or you may have decided that another school is really the fit.

(But I do not work in admissions, so I don't know for sure, of course.)

I can see absolutely nothing wrong with appealing and going somewhere else even if the appeal school accepts your D in May or June (or whenever they finally get back)

On what basis are you going to appeal for fall rether than winter term. She was accepted. Appeals are a forum to say you made a mistake by not accepting me because of the following reason....That she would rather go fall as opposed to winter is something they know is true of most winter admits. Feel fortunate for the acceptance!
