Sorry-- but Chances for honors program?

I'm sorry, I find these threads just as annoying as you guys probably do. But, I was just REJECTED from UPenn ED, so I'm getting a bit nervous about my RD schools. So, please take some pity on this ivy league reject, and chance me? Thanks so much.

I applied to the honors program, so if you could chance me for the honors program and to just the school separately that would be amazing.

Personal:
Female from Long Island, NY (I know, automatic reject)
White
Competitive public high school
middle-class area; will be applying for financial aid (although I probably will receive none)

Stats:
SATs: 780 M, 760 V, 710 W
2250/2400 or 1540/1600
720 Math II and Lit
GPA: 96.658/100 (w)
Class Rank: 18/400 (top 5%)
National Merit Semifinalist

1 AP Soph year, 4 APs junior year, 4 APs senior year....all 5s on the 5 tests taken so far
Other than the APs, I took every honors/advanced level class available (about 15 total).
I dropped Spanish in favor of taking AP sciences junior year- how much will this hurt me?

Major ECs (I have a lot, but these are the strongest):
Debate- Captain, competed in state championship, lots of awards
president and founder of 2 other clubs
lots of political campaigning and activism
hospital volunteer- 3 hrs/week for the past 2 years
food bank volunteer- 2 hrs/week for the past year
Oh, and I guess I should mention a few other things.
Although I hate making excuses, my freshman year grades were pretty low b/c I was suffering from a serious illness, which caused me to miss a few months of school. Since then, there's been an obvious upwards trend. If class rank was based on sophomore, junior, and senior years, I would be ranked 3rd out of 400.
My common app essay was about my illness and getting past it, and it actually won an award in my school, so I'd say it's pretty good.
My "Why GW?" was creative and sincere.

Teacher and guidance recs are wonderful, as far as I know. I was unable to read them, but I have a close relationship w/ the teachers I chose and my GC.
Any responses would really be appreciated!!! Thanks in advance.

I can't see how they'd reject you. I mean, GW has a tendency to be irrational, but you'd have to be an axe murderer to not be admitted with your stats.

Thanks. Luckily, I'm not an axe murderer-- I'm only a serial bank robber. =P Haha.

hey im a student at GW finishing up my first semester this week...i decided to come back and see the posts while taking a break from studying for finals. anyways if anybody wants any insight into gw from a current student id be happy to help out. to this post: insanity i think youre a solid applicant and will most likely get accepted. i happen to have quite a few friends in the honors program and they all live in Lafayette together and seem to enjoy it. their one complaint is the freshmen orientation they have to take. its a small community and they are close friends in and out of the classroom. i think you have a good shot at the honors program though. your stats are at or above most students at GW. which school do you want to get into? im more helpful with questions about the Elliott School seeing as how its the one im in :). anyways if youve already applied you should relax a bit and not worry so much because i think you have a good shot at acceptance.

I'm going to be really obnoxious and do the following:

bump

Sorry :/

What are the stats for the Honors Program?

Yea, does anyone know the avearge admittance rate to the honors program? That would be handy information!

I seem to think I've read something on the website that said approximately a tenth out of all honors college applicants receive honors college admission. I could be completely wrong, but that's what I seem to remember....

It also says on the website that the class rank of the prospective honors student should ideally be in the top 5-10% range or better.

Wow...one tenth? That's really low. I'm intimidated.

From hsseniorlooking, 4/01/2007:

"Honors Admission comes with your Admision packet. You get a separate folder (with George on the front) and a letter inside. They said they only admitted about 10% of the applicants around 120 people, I believe."

Elliott2011,
