My essays are pretty amazing, and my letters of rec are very positive. I have had a lot of research experience.

So, thoughts?

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think Northwestern superscores?

Anyways, you probably have an above average chance of being accepted, especially because of your research experience and the fact that you come from such a good high school. I hope you wrote the optional statement on research essay?

I did, yes, and I have a letter of recommendation from my research advisor. Thanks for your input!

Depends on your applicant and supplemental essays. Higher-education institutions prefer students that fit the mold (i.e. represent the culture). As a suggestion, I recommend that you research the student atmosphere … so that you can strategize your essay in an effort to show that you would be a positive contributor to the University as a whole…

In addition, your stats appear to meet basic admission criteria. Just remember that strong stats alone will not guarantee an admission spot.

Try to capture, what attributes you bring to the table as a prospective student … that will suggest loyalty to the University… Admissions also likes students who are inspired; that is have a plan for the future, with intent of gaining research experience, attending graduate school, doing “big things” … all in the process of “giving back” to the University in which you originally attended.

Thank you, I appreciate the advice! I made sure to really gear my supplemental essay for NU toward why I would fit in, as well as what my goals are for the future and how NU can help me achieve them.

Quick question: Did you apply to HMPE? I noticed from your username that you are in fact a med nerd lol

Haha no, I did not. I applied to SLU’s Medical Scholars and got in, though. I am particularly interested in the medical field, and I have a full ride there, so it is a very difficult decision for me!

Well congratulations then!
