btw 1mx and gaffe, thanks for your constructive criticisms :) appreciate it. really.

i dont plan on applying to harvard anyways, I was just wondering of my chances. I don't plan on following my brother's footsteps once again. I know he's perfect in harvard, and I am not.

However, i felt that your insulting me was not neccessary. Do you feel better about yourself, your chances, by belittling me? You guys may get into harvard, but I think I will be much happier in life than you guys are. I don't go around and insult other people just for fun. I'm not a bitter person like you guys.

You might claim that you were being merely blunt and/or honest, but there are other ways of being completley honest without making an ass of yourself.

You must have saw that post; it's deleted now.

Is your name really Poop?
If it is your name, picking another user name would have eliminated these insults. However, if you were unaware that your name has other meanings, now you know. I suppose you didn't anticipate being at the butt of a few jokes with that user name.

No, I don't feel better about myself. I know that belittling another person will not increase my chances. If I were to get into Harvard, I doubt the prediction that your happiness would be greater than mine or anyone else's will be true.

I was honest and serious in my first post. My second post, now deleted, was more of a playful gesture in response to 1MX. If you are easily offended, then I think you should learn to be a little less sensitive, considering that the Internet forums can be impersonal. Consider changing your low tolerance on what is rude.

While his/her SAT scores are lower than an average Harvard applicant, I say that he/she still has got a chance at this. My teacher used to say: "Now remember you might think that you only have 9% of getting into Harvard(that was the acceptance rate I think a year ago), but think this way- if you DON'T APPLY, YOU HAVE A ZERO CHANCE OF GETTING IN."

So I say- Apply because you never know, you might be surprised. I know a handful of people who had perfect scores, perfect ecs(although I don't really know how you would classify ec's) and still got rejected at all ivies. In the end, you just need to show Harvard that you DESERVE IT. If you don't have the scores for it, then show it in other way that you deserve to be at Harvard.

thanks. that was slightly encouraging. but i already made this board with the intentions of not applying. it was just to see how i'd fair. Our school only allows us to apply for 8 colleges, so i have to bemore careful in which schools i apply to
