Hi. How can you take AP Bio online?

(srry im not answering ur question. i dont knw much abt the colleges u r applying to)

wow you have great grades . . . and a lot of really nice-looking research and ECs. If your november SAT hits over 2200 (although it's very good already) you could definitely get into a great BS/MD program.

Hey neha89

To take AP BIo online, you need meet the Johns Hopkins CTY requirements (not that hard, they just require a minimum SAT score. Sry I forgot what it was). Then you can take courses via its Distance Learning program.
AP Bio basically was a bunch of lectures I had to listen to on my own before a deadline. I also had to do practice exercises and take tests. THe course was not too bad; the only negative thing was that it was quite time intensive. I like didnt sleep during my UK dance tour so I could finish.

But other than that, its all good.

But do you know if I have a shot at the accelerated md 7 year programs offered at the schools/ the 8year combined degree program at washU?

I really want to get into drexel's bs/md and northwestern's program too.

thanks schrizto!!
Yeah. my sat scores need to go up. hopefully, november will be good to me.

Question: Do you think Northwesterns a reach too? I know its reallly competitive so Im not too sure given that every applicant has very good credentials

I think you'll get into at least one bs/md. you can do much better than drexel's, in my opinion.

you'll probably get into the drexels as long as your personable at the interview....the rest i have no clue.

you're stellar

wow we are really similar. cept im white.

also, you thought ap bio was time intensive? well yeah i guess if you listened to the lectures it would be, haha ;) i took it in 10th and just read the little folder and took the tests. anyway, i think you have a great shot at all of them if you arent a total weirdo in person. good luck!

all ur stats are good except your sats are not in the "comfort range". I define that as at least 1500 math and verbal only.

However, your ecs are quite impressive and they may look over the sats. I'd still bring them up tho. Your a match at all the drexel programs, everything else, a decent chance.

i dont think the sat will be death for this person...look at the entire stats list

Thanks Aspen D! I hope my stats will save me.
I worry a lot over my sat scores.
The only program I am applying to with my low SAT score is Penn State's since the latest sat they accept is the october sat. I am taking the november sat.

I am pretty sure I will be fine with my SATiis since bio chem and math are my strengths.

according to your opinions, what are my chances at competitive programs like northwestern with these sat scores? If I get over a 1500 in november, how significantly would my chances at such competitive programs increase?

wait most of the programs require the M+V score to be 1400-1440
i say take it one more time to get that extra 10 points

yeah, thats pretty much what i'm doing too....i've got 740-740 for math and verbal and i'm taking it ONEEEEEEEEEEEEE more time in like what, 2 weeks? just go for the 1450-1500 range...i know its not alot statistically, but a 1500 looks way better than it should be for only an upgrade of about 30-40 points if you're in the mid-1400's, ya know?
