Sorry for the length…

You seem to have really good stats and a certain amount diversity in your courses…given the over all feel of everything you’ve mentioned I think you stand a really good chance
but then again Im just another prospective student waiting for my ED decision.
GOOD LUCK!!!

I agree that you have a decent shot–being from Texas should help! Did you apply ED or RD?

@mineoafrau Ha, I hope so. No one in my school goes anywhere except UT Austin. I applied RD. I don’t know if we’ll be able to afford it, otherwise I would have applied ED. Amherst is definitely my #1.

Thanks blindsided, good luck and let me know how it goes!

@duration: Thank You ! btw amherst meets the 100% demonstrated need…so u really shouldnt worry about it!

Our “demonstrated need” is probably pretty low, as our family makes about $260,000 a year. All of our savings got wiped out by medical things and the recession, though. So we’ll see.

Im sure they will take everything into account  GOOD LUCK!!!

Wait you just throw in you are National Champion in CX? Does this mean you won NAtionals for CX? If this is the case, I am very impressed (I am a PF Debater myself, top 40 at Nationals last year)

Ha, yeah. We’re only encouraged to compete in the Urban Debate Leagues though, where the caliber of competition is woefully lacking for the most part. Got judge ****ed in the 4th round by this horrible woman that didn’t even write anything on the ballot and wore a South Pole sweatshirt, so we broke to the finals that are 3 years or younger part of the national competition and won that easily. Hit some team that ran a racism performance aff from California.
