HI Guys,
I know I am a long shot away from admission with my massacred GPA :) , and I know that the "chances" threads are incred. annoying, but I just can't resist... It is Harvard after all! So here goes...Please tell me what you think... don't hold back!
SAT: R770, W760 -12 essay,M770
GPA: 3.8 (ouch)
SAT II: Physics: 760, Math II 750, Chem:710 (yeah I know, hehe), U.S. His: 770
AP: US 5, Euro 5, (taking JP, Gov, C. Gov, Calc, & Chem)
Stuff: Debate, Crosscountry & Track, Robotics, WOS, JSA, EHC, internships, NHS, Founded some clubs, Symphony, Pit Orchestra (for drama, haha,) school math competitions, volunteer at hospital and fair trade org, Work.
Other stuff: National Merit Finalist, speak 3.5 languages (including english, I don't think it's really relevant here but whatever,) came to US seven (?) eight years ago. High school ok, west coast public, underfunded though... people rarely make Ivy, though the Grads this year have been lucky so far. Was not brave enough to bribe admission officers with cookies (sadly,) interview went ok.

Hey, Good job you AMAZING people who got accepted already and good luck to everyone applying!

heyy... i dont think your GPA is "massacred" at all ... I think its within reasonable bounds for Harvard. After all, Harvard could cull out and admit only 4.0's and 2400's, but they dont! ... they'll definitely take into consideration the multi-faceted nature of your extracurricular activities (as my guidance counselor would say, you are definitely "well-rounded.") ... i think you have a pretty decent chance ... as good a chance as anyone applying to harvard. after all, admissions is like 80% crapshoot hehe... good luck!

Oh and I think you have a good shot. My sister's friend got in with a 3.78 uw and she was from Korea I believe, moved here between 8th and 9th grade. Her SATs were 790 math, 770 reading, and something (can't remember.) Her ECs were okish 3 yrs varsity volleyball and softball and a bunch of community service for kids. You have a better shot then she did. Good luck though =].
