<p>I really want to go to choate or Andover. Maybe Peddie or Deerfield.
But I get mostly 93-97% on tests and quizzes. I am taking excellerated algebra 1 in eighth grade this year. My school doesn't offer any other excellerated courses. I already go to a top rated prep school (according to Forbes), but I'm interested in boarding school. I have been on student council, and I do many community service activities helping the homeless. I play 4 sports, doing well in 3 and just starting 1. But I also take Latin 1 at my current school, and also speak French, and Spanish. I am applying for boarding w/o financial aid. Finally, I play piano, and have played for 7 years.
Just ask if you need more info. Sorry for the bad format everyone. :(</p>
<p>Sounds like you’re a great applicant. Volunteer work? Extra awards/honors, but its great your taking whatever accelerated course, doings sports, and applying w.o, financial aid, as well as playing piano for so long.</p>
<p>I’m also thinking of Miss Porters.</p>
<p>@Elephant,
Though I’m no admission expert and I’m in the same boat you are,(rising eighth grader applying to BS)and you seem extremely qualified. You’re much more qualified than I am, that’s for sure! The only reason I can possibly see you being denied places is the fact that some schools will deny overqualified applicants for fear that they will not attend that school. This is called the “Tufts effect”. There’s a post on it on CC. I have known some kids who I think were denied due to the “Tufts effect”. But aside from that you seem better than I am and you probably will be able to go to the school of your choice! Good luck and hopefully you will be my future classmate!</p>
<p>why apologize in your thread title?</p>
<p>thank you very much, however I was rejected at all i applied to.</p>
