Is this similar to Georgetown admission stats, or are my scores too low? Thanks everybody!

Your GPA looks good, and you ACT is pretty good as well. Your volunteer work is really great, as are your electives. I would say you have a pretty good chance. You should consider applying early action, and I think you would get in! Georgetown is my dream school, so if I got in, I myself would go!

Well, I wouldn’t evaluate things quite so rosily. I just have a few more questions. What is your class rank and/or unweighted GPA? As far as I’m concerned, a weighted number of under 4.00 could be a problem. What are your SAT II scores, or have you not taken them yet? Your ACT score is acceptable, but you could certainly do yourself a great service be earning a few more points. That being said, your extracurricular work is impressive, especially if you’re applying for SFS or for the Government major. If you can answer those few questions though, your chance could be estimated a little better.

My school doesn’t release rank, to colleges or the students, and unweighted GPA I’m not too sure of, it could be as low as a 3.6, but I honestly have no idea.

I took subject tests last week, so I’m not sure of how I did yet. What ranged would be detrimental to my acceptance to send? Sub-700? 650?

Also, does work experience matter very much to more-prestigious schools? I’ve worked for awhile at Abercrombie intl. headquarters, but is it something you would leave off/put on an application?

Oh. I didn’t realize the GPA was weighted. Yes, that could pose a problem.

Well, yes the GPA will be a little low, but, with a strong application otherwise, it can be overcome. As far as subject tests go, you’re pretty much required to send three, so shoot for three scores above 700. In addition, most applications (Georgetown’s is available now so you could check) do have a space for work experience. Anyway, invest serious time in your app, prepare well for the interview, and find a good teacher to recommend you. Good luck!

My SAT IIs:
Lit - 680
World - 690
US - 700

I’m planning on applying Early Action, are my scores an automatic deferral with my ACT score being a 30?
