I was looking at NC-Chapel Hill and it looked like a phenomenal school, I probably don't have much of a shot but if I do I'll send a app. Also some other suggestions for schools are greatly appreciated.

Again, Thanks for all responses!

waaahh
okay so before I tell you what I think, I have to say this (because I did the same thing as you did when I was applying): worry more about what you want to do in college instead of obsessing over whether or not you will get in. when I applied, I kept trying to figure out my chances bc I was soooo impatient, but the thing is... even if I knew my chances, I couldn't change it anyways since I'd already built my profile (pretty much). then I got in my colleges, and then I was like, yay........ now what. ?

haha
I mean it's okay to be wondering, but I just want to warn you not to make too big of a deal out of it. and to look ahead a little more-- if you got in, ........ what you would do & stuff.

okay so your chances....
I think your chances are probably 40%. I think you are kind of borderline so they might waitlist you. but I'm not an admissions officer so I have no idea. and it also depends on the other people applying.

I also heard that UNC is trying to make it harder for people to get in.

but whatever, regardless of your chances, I still think you should apply. it doesn't hurt!!!!!!!!!

You have a long shot because you are out of state!!!

thanks for the responses.

My GPA kills me and my scores could go up. I guess the only upside could be that I'm asian.

I don't think i'll apply from what i've heard from here, it is nearly impossible to get accepted into Chapel Hill OOS.

Sorry to say I don't think they're very good. OOS means your SAT is a little too low and I don't think your class schedule is very challenging compared to most other applicants.

oooh yeah I forgot about the out of state chances.......
sorry :(

please don't get discouraged though!! even if you don't make it in, there are plenty of good schools out there that I'm sure will want you!

and you know... if you are good at football.. that increases your chances at a lot of colleges too! good luck!!!!!!!!

I really don't see how being Asian helps you. Asians are overrepresented at UNC so that's not the best thing to be. ;) Anyway, I don't think that you'll get accepted, especially not OOS. The only excuse at UNC for not taking AP and Honors is if your school doesn't offer them.

yeah I don't think being asian helps bc they usually don't take very many, so the few that they do decide to take are the super smart ones... then the others are kind of left out even though they may be well qualified.

on my application I put "prefer not to disclose" (or whatever it was called) instead of Asian
I don't know if it really helped though.
