Basically, I'm wondering if my extracurriculars+essay+SAT can outweigh my low classrank and gpa.

I believe that your application will be seriously considered, and that if you think Chicago is a good fit you should apply.

Now, I have a suggestion. Ditch the self study APs so that you can present better senior grades (hint, hint, they look at your transcript, not just the gpa number!), get enough sleep before your SATs, and maybe have some fun. Senior year is exhausting even if you are taking a sane amount of coursework, and you are not. Remember that college applications and visits take up at least as much time and energy as a class.

I don't mean to come down hard on you - you look like a wonderful student and person. Unless you have borrowed Hermione's time turner, there are only so many hours in the day, and you need some r&r.

Chicago doesn't put much weight on the SAT, so don't worry too much about that...

Thanks for your input- I really enjoy both economics and government(well, the subjects, not the teacher), so I'm learning them for my own benefit. But you're right, I should probably lighten up a bit.
