Sorry if this has been posted a lot, but what are my chances into UC Davis?

SAT: 1200 (580 math) (620 R&W)

My school is not that competitive. School does not offer many AP classes. My schedule is conflicted with my special schedule as I am in a medical academy at my school.

AP courses taken: AP Physics 1, AP Calc AB, AP Psych
IB courses taken: IB history of the Americas, and IB History 2 HL

Strong characteristics highlighted in my application: over 500 hours of community service. Want to enter into the medical field as a veterinarian. I volunteer at my local animal shelter, intern at my local hospital, and did an internship with a local medical clinic. I also have an interest in politics, for which I interned for a political campaign during the 2018 mid terms. I also have an interest in film making, in which I have directed and produced many school films.

EC’s: treasurer for key club, secretary for a Hispanic cultural club, community service rep. for HOSA. CSF for 10-12. Tennis JV for 11-12. Member of the Medical Reserve Corps. Helped with many local community events.

Your UC GPA is very competitive but your SAT is below the 25th percentile. You have some diverse and interesting EC’s. I would say your chances are 50/50.

I forgot to add that I want to major in Animal Bio and desire to get into the vet school @ Davis.

I think you have a good chance considering the ECs you do to compensate for a low SAT (which is arbitrary depending if you’re a good test taker or not). You’ll find out in a couple days :D. All the best,
