SORRY SORRY, another chances thread!

Hi guys,

I’ve been reading over the threads (including the huntman) and decided to post my ‘stats’ to see what my chances were for RD. I was thinking of doing ED, but I’m so glad i didn’t because of the 21% increase in ppl doing it buttttttt anyway, here goes!

SAT: 2200 (760 M, 700 CR, 740 W); 750 IIC, 800 Chinese (lol, chinese is my target language); 690 Spanish (yeeks, but I took it just for the heck of it, at least it shows my interest in languages and one that is outside what I’m targeting at)

My Main Extracurriculars:
Newspaper (an editor, but not editor-in-chief)> it’s a hella good newspaper that has won awards and stuff
FBLA (reactivated club this year with 4 other seniors)
Mandarin Club
-I tutored English over the summer and took a Chinese class
-I was in the ‘Top 25’ for this peace essay contest my English teacher made us all submit to. Unfortunately, I think like 30 people actually submitted something, haha.

i was born and live in California! (woo! cali pride!); i go to a really good public HS where 20 or 30 people go to UC Berkeley each year (out of a class of 300-350)

does having a lot of ppl applying to penn decrease my chances? I think 3 people applied to Penn ED, too (I heard one applied to Huntsman, too. eeks, he has like super leadership skills and interesting background); a ton to Stanford, and those really computer-y, science-y guys all applied EA to MIT, too.

anyway, I’m really passionate about the asia-pacific and everything about it – the food, the economy, the music, the people, etc. I’m a fobabee! (fob + wannabe = fobabee), also business (see the FBLA and mandarin club connection there?).

my school actually doesn’t have a lot of APs (no AP environmental science, APEuro, Art history…just the basics, so like 11-12 total AP classes), but I will have had taken 6.5 by the time I graduate. my guidance counselors say that colleges know my school has a really strong academic background though so even regular courses could count as honors at other places.

thanks for looking at my stats

Do you have a GPA or rank?
