Sorry Stern... it just wasn't going to work out.

Got into McCombs today at UT, already planning on getting into the BHP there.

While I don't doubt your prestige or financial prowess, your just too expensive baby, even with your Stern Scholarship, it was just too much.

Meanwhile McCombs (especially if I get into BHP) has offered me a competitive finance major and hopefully an honors program where I can still be recruited by top iBanks should I pursue finance and build a foundation for an excellent grad school experience.

For me and my bankrupting family, $9,000 a year for tuition, less than 1/3rd of what NYU's is, and far less living expensives is just an offer I cannot refuse.

Austin is a nice city too, and I can still pursue top business and law schools while attending there... I'm also praying to get off the waitlist at Rice or potentially transfer there as a Sophomore, NYU would make the possibility much more difficult.

So long

bye-bye, gl

It comes with a certain amount of regret of course, but the huge financial gap between Stern and UT makes the choice almost immediately default to UT... the extraordinary amount of debt that I would take on at NYU doesn't outweigh the marginal benefits I might be getting there.

If all costs were equal then Stern would definitely still be in the running, but alas we don't live in a world like that, the cost-benefit analysis has spoken, and it says UT BHP.

i dont know if ill be making the same choice soon...
