Sorry, urgent Jefferson Scholar question.

My apologies! It's not extremely urgent, but I've got the interview tomorrow.

I realize its late, but if anyone knows -what kind of clothing do you wear to the interviews? I'd imagine it's somewhat formal, but is a suit necessary?

Or would a dress shirt or even polo be more fitting?

Thanks much.

I wore khaki pants, an oxford cloth shirt, leather shoes and a blazer. Stick to brands like Brooks Brothers, Allen Edmonds and Polo. Don’t wear anything too cheezy and don’t go over the top.

Be sure to network with them a lot. I heard that most of the Jeff scholars were chosen not by their outstanding records (of course, they already have those) but by essentially sucking up to them. So e-mail and write them handwritten letters. Good luck.

Much appreciated.

I think it went well, they said congratulations when I was walking out and went ten minutes over what they said they would. If I’m just overconfident, then no worries, I’ll find out Monday.

Ya’ll are pathetic, wear express, armani, and other highly fashionable clothes. Not brooks and dockers

The funny thing is, at UVA, even with the wealth, Brooks and Dockers (or Sperries) are the fashionable things.

I haven’t been into an Express store since I was a teenager (and it was called by a longer, French name then). If it’s on the same level as Armani, perhaps I should visit one again. ;)
