SOS!!..Help!!

Hi everyone...im kinda new here...so...anyways...

um..ive taken the SAT twice already, and my scores weren't decent...it's somwhere below 1600...ive tried everything...going to tutors, buying books, asking friends for help, but nothing seems to work...and this november is my last chance....

I don't think im going to do well even if i take it again..i dunno..ive been stressed out lately..and nothing could boost up my confidence...i feel so stupid in front of my friends......

what books did you buy?, if u havent, get the collegeboard book with the practice tests + online course and princton review 11 tests book, make sure u learn from the mistakes u make<<the most important part, it doesnt matter how many tests u've taken, if u dont learn from them, taking the tests will be pointless

I used the collegeboard book that had all the practice tests....i tried to learn from my mistakes...but i dunno..i dont think im getting it...

hmm.. i can really relate to how you feel because I used to start out at 1600s. Especially in CR, I would feel that I did an adequete job, but when I got to the questions I would either panic or feel great, but after looking at the answers , notice that I had gotten half of them wrong.

In CR, I've been able to turn around my bad experiences by slowing down and grasping the details, underlining the adjectives and key phrases that caught my attention. Then answer the questions. Although the reading takes 1-3 minutes, I still have ample amount of time to answer each individual question.

There was always a period of time when I felt I was doing horrible and no matter what i did, i was kept on missing 40-50% of the questions. It takes time and practice. I'm sure everyone here .. well most everyone (or maybe just you and me).. can relate to this.

thx soprolahh....u've helped me mucho!!

Have you tried a practice test of the ACT? You might do better on that -- with less tricky questions, no penalty for wrong answers, and score choice you may be more relaxed. Of course, not everyone does better on the ACT; some do the same and some do worse. But you won't know unless you try.

I would say you either need to take a class, or you need to try the ACT. I thought the ACT was better, more straightforward. See if there are any ACT books at your library and take a practice test, or do the free one on review.com.
