SOS! Will I Be Rescinded?

in desperate need of advice
my final calculus grade was awful and my hs recommends that i write a letter explaining the circumstances, rather than waiting for Princeton to ask me about it anyway. im confused because 1. my grade was the same, lousy all year (the only non-A on my report card) and 2. my parents and i have been getting regular correspondence and everything seemed hunky-dory for the fall.
could i get rescinded before classes start? could fin-aid be affected?
please respond even if this seems excessive/silly; i feel like im already in trouble and i haven't even started yet.

What, exactly, is “awful”? I’m guessing it’s not a B, because your school is advising you to write a letter. If it’s a C, I wouldn’t worry about it. Most schools don’t care about Cs as long as the rest of your transcript is good. I would write an explanation if you got a D.

I agree with runforfun529. If it was the same letter grade for first semester when they accepted you, I doubt if it would be a big deal at all. Also, I don’t think fin-aid would be affected.

I personally believe you will not have any problem, in part because when I was a senior in high school, I received a few Cs in the final trimester after pretty much straight As throughout high school and Princeton didn’t seem to care. I honestly wouldn’t worry about it.

You have to receive a failing grade in one of your classes to warrant scrutiny from the admissions department after they’ve accepted you (at some schools starts at D, other schools F.) So unless it’s really that bad, won’t matter.

Well if you get a C in a regular class they start to care but otherwise you’re good.

Is it literally the same grade? If it is you have nothing to worry about.
