South Campus v. Ganville

Mhm, not sure. But I think Chipmoney interpreted it right though, because I’m guessing they don’t want to leave those students who didn’t receive their FA decisions until wayy later in the dust when it comes to housing (thankfully haha). Thanks!

That is just in regards to first-years.

I’m not exactly sure how it works for sophmores and up.

SwaGGeReR, i was wondering the same thing, I also went to explore carolina and saw craige on friday. I’m out of state from florida, for the record. At first, I was excited about the 8 girls to one bathroom, because at least its not one floor to one bathroom. It did look a bit runned down though which surprised me. Then again, it was also on the first floor, I think i’d rather be higher up. But anyways, I’m looking for all the stuff you said too, but in my case lots of attractive guys :P, but as for the social life, i’ve been told by many that the “freshman experience” is better on south campus at one of the high rises. I would consider living in granville if I decide to rush and go greek maybe after freshman year, but i think south campus gets you more accustomed to the campus (at least what i’ve heard, so don’t attack me you disagree-ers :stuck_out_tongue: ) and also it would definitely help me stay in shape with all that walking, found that out the hard way ahah buses are a must. But yeah, current UNC students told me that they recommend south campus for freshman year, which is what I’ll be doing (buuut, I do hope they’re a little cleaner on the upper floors, that one dorm room was ehh in the bathroom for sure)

does anyone know if it sucks during the winter having outside hallways? that’s the only thing I’m worried about is like a rainy day or something where it’s going to be terrible getting back to my dorm.

You can always choose a dorm with inside hallways. That was actually one of my friend’s main concerns about the dorms, which seemed weird to me hah.

But overall Craige is truly about the worst dorm at UNC, so I never quite understood why they showed that one at Explore Carolina? Perhaps they just don’t want to get the students hopes up by showing them something nice.

In regards to the whole South Campus/ Granville things… I really don’t think you can go wrong. You’re going to meet a ton of people and have a good time in either place you stay. Granville is a pretty good percentage of freshman anyway. Personally what made my decision at Granville was the building itself… the rooms are nicer than some of the South Campus ones, the food in the Agora is wayy better, and you are garunteed maid service! Hah, I really hate cleaning my bathroom.

Granville is first cum first serve!!
