Has anyone heard that South West will be flying direct from PBI to BHM starting this summer? I’m not sure if this is a rumor. I think the only direct flight from the Miami area is from MIA to BHM. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Trying to get the best flights from the Fort Lauderdale area and I’m looking for direct flights. Thanks and Roll Tide.

YES, I thought they were going to start on July 2…but then I plugged in other dates and got a different start/end date. The error message goes something like this when you try to book:
“Published scheduled service between (Birmingham - BHM) and (West Palm Beach - PBI) does not begin until xx/xx/2016. Please select an alternate date or choose another origination/destination. Some flights may only operate on specific days of the week. View Schedules Online for additional flight information.”
I did find ONE flight, on July 3rd, BHM to PBI, and that was it, using the flexible date/calendar option.
If you want to fly from PBI, there are pretty regular direct flights on SWA to ATL, which might work for you.
