So, my school has exchange agreements with three schools in South Korea: Sungkyunkwan (Seoul), Hanyang (Seoul), and Kyungpook (Daegu).

Because quite a few professors here are associated with Sungkyunkwan in some way, I'm considering it above the others. However, I want to hear some opinions before making any hasty decisions.

Which of those three schools is the best choice and why?

in terms of reputation, Sungkyunkwan is the top among the ones you’ve mentioned.
Hanyang is fine too IMO but Kyungpook seems too far. Daegu is a big city but I don’t know how foreigner-friendly it is. As a foreigner, you won’t encounter too many problems in Seoul.

Do you know anything about Suwon? Since I’m in engineering, if I went to Sungkyunkwan, I’d be at the Suwon campus. I know that it’s some 30 km south of Seoul, but that’s about it.

look online for information about suwon sightseeing, restaurants, etc.

I’m pretty sure Suwon (in fact anywhere else too) would be happy to welcome you. Foreign students from the US are pretty popular simply because of their english skills.

I have lived in Suwon, and its about 40min away from Seoul by subway, however despite the proximity to Seoul, I think Hanyang would be a better choice for you because it is located in the center of Korea. Seoul has a very different vibe from all the other cities. Besides, Hanyang is probably most famous for its engineering school. Hope this post helps. ; )
