Southern Consortium College Night

There are some great schools here . . . S1 and DD applied to several of them (two each, actually) and we became very familiar with many, and I attended two of them, Sewanee undergrad and Vanderbilt for grad school. Too bad all three of my kids are determined to be out of the South! So much to recommend a number of these places! Reading this thread actually brought tears to my eyes as S1 is going so far, and Rhodes would have been so close (and free . . .hard to part with that, too!)

A few tears here, too. We went to an open house last fall, I leaned over to my husband and said, "by the way, the Admissions Dean is THE Dave Wottle", and we spent the next few minutes futilely trying to explain to DD who he is, and trying to remember which Olympics, whether it was high school or not. She just rolled her eyes.
She too could have gone almost free - and is now going so far away.

Cangel,

Think they may miss us a little when they are wet and cold for six months? I shouldn't hope for such even a little. But hey, I am human!! :)

Wet and cold - how about DARK! Wet, she's used to wet, and if she' like me, she may actually like the cold, my guess is she will miss the sunshine. I'm not sure she will miss us!
