$$$Southern Methodist and Money$$$

I don't mind being around rich people, and have some friends are quite well off. But is wealthy sterotype that strong there? Is it true that people won't even be your friend unless you drive a BMW and your parents have a 10million net worth? I'm a guy and would like to hook up with a woman they (hey, we all do) but are they really that money hungry?

People tend to flaunt their money but if you don't drive a BMW they aren't going to not be your friend. I have plenty of friends who go there that can afford it but are not flauntingly rich. SMU has terrific financial aid and merit aid, and there is definitely a contingency of those types as well. Remember that the weekend pretty much focuses on the frat houses tho, so if you aren't into that Greek elitist thing, might want to avoid it.

The biggest snob I know (rich, spoiled, and definitely flaunts it) visited and told me the people were too snobby for her.
