Southern road trip

Looking to visit some schools in the south with DS, a junior. We would start with Tulane, swing to Alabama, and up to Vanderbilt. Any other schools in the general area worth adding? We might extend to either Indiana or St. Louis (Wash U), but not sure.

DS is an A student, probably end up somewhere around 3.8. Hasn't taken tests yet, but should be around 32 area on ACT like his bro. Probably looking for some type of business, possibly engineering, or some combo. No idea about school size as he hasn't seen any yet. Tulane is good with merit for his caliber, and seems like a fit for his personality. Vandy also seems like a fit, probably a match or low reach academically. Bro goes to Bama, so its on the list, plus we get to see Big DS. Just wondering if any other schools are worth adding to the itinerary.

Georgia Tech is good for Engineering.

Try UVA, Clemson and UNC. All those schools are very southern. UVA and UNC are academic powerhouses and Clemson has a strong engineering dept. It all depends on what he’s looking for.

You could do Duke, UNC, and NC State in a 1-2 day span.

We will do the mid Atlantic schools on a different trip.

For a liberal arts college with good sciences and a business major, maybe Rhodes College in Memphis wouldn’t be too far out of the way on your itinerary.

Emory and GA Tech
