I've heard good things about living on both the southside and northside dorms at Texas A&M. Which side would you suggest. I currently am thinking about Kreuger on the southside.

I had friends that lived in both… if I had to pick, I’d go with Northside. Northside is on a more happenin’ side of campus, whereas southside is somewhat isolated (it is by Evans though) and it has that “freshman feel” to it.

You’ll also find more upperclassmen still living on campus over on Northside.

There are good and bad things about both sides of campus. I lived in Krueger on Southside and liked it. I have heard that people like Northside more because there are more things to do there. It’s right next to Northgate (although Southside isn’t that far away) and there are more dorm events over there. I think that Southside dorms are much nicer and cleaner. There aren’t many activities on the Southside, but I wouldn’t have participated in those anyways. I think you will be happy either way. :)

This is what my cousin sent me when I asked her where I should live…

North: newer, close to bus routes, walking distance to Northgate, generally closer to most of the buildings you’d probably have class in your first year or so (poli sci, english, economics, etc), near the nerds so you have some added entertainment there, both are equidistant to the MSC/Kyle Field. Close to the academic building where the honors advisors are and where Silver Taps is held. Also closer to the Rec Center.

South: near the Corps dorms and thus the Corps guys and their interesting antics (entertaining generally), you will be woken up by the band practicing in the morning (which if you’re a morning person you may like, but if not it might drive you crazy), close to the Oceanography, Math and Architecture departments but further away from Business and Liberal Arts, slightly closer to the library, closer to parking garages (if you choose garage parking).

It’s not about Northside or Southside… it’s about HART HALL Centralside!!! Haha =)

But seriously though, as a student on-campus, I would choose Northside. Parties, close proximity to sbisa, bus routes, etc. But I also recommend Hart Hall… the only dorm that’s in the MIDDLE of the campus between north and south. 5 minute walk to all of my classes =)

What is the bathroom situation at Hart?

It’s suite style. Two rooms sharing a bathroom. So you will be sharing a bathroom with three other people. I think Hart is a pretty solid dorm and in the middle of everything like firescopy said.
