Does anyone know how many people from the program pass the interview stage?

I got in as well! :)
From what I’ve read the program accepts 30-35 people, and each medical school is willing to accept 15 people. So worse case scenario, assuming they really didn’t accept more than 35 people, our chances of getting passed the interview stage are 30/35.

Even if those candidates don’t get provisional acceptance to the medical schools they’re still going to be strong candidates for the regular application cycle. From what I know SHAPE prepares you very well for Medical School interviews.

Congratulation to you all.

Did you folks apply to other direct programs?

@AP1210 Also, even if we don’t get a provisional acceptance, we’re not kicked off the degree plan track. So we will still continue with the accelerated 3 year undergraduate degree plan and apply as we would have if we had just graduated in 3 years without being in SHAPE.
@grofkr Thanks! I personally didn’t apply to any other programs. I knew I wanted UT Austin, so I applied to this program almost for kicks (obviously not totally, it’s still a very selective and hard process to go through). I had the mentality of “I’m going to UT anyway, might as well see what else I can do with that.” Turns out I can do a lot! haha

Thanks . The reason I ask is most of students applied to all 4 Texas school
And my D is wait listed and i am trying to gauge what her chances are for getting of wait list.
It seems like different set kids applied to different program and school might coordinated their list so chances could be low .

how does UT Shape compare in respect to attending schools like Rice, Brown, Columbia, or Uchicago?
