Hi,

so I took Spanish Placement test, and SP 300+ is my result.

Is it like High school’ Spanish 3 equivalent?

Hi,

I semester of a foreign language in college equates (roughly) to 1 year of HS, so you probably took 4 years in HS, I’m guessing?

Yes

SP300 will be beyond Spanish 4+ in HS.
I’m hoping you took the CLEP test in Spanish Language in order to receive incoming credit for SP101, 102, 201, and 202? (If you received high enough score on CLEP, that is.) See this link for how to get credit for foreign language testing: http://courseleaf.ua.edu/introduction/academicpolicies/creditbyexamination/#collegelevelexaminationprogramcleptext

oh no i didn’t. 80$ is too pricey for my family…can I use my AP credit? I got 4 in SP language.

@paul2752 - You can get AP credit of 7 credits (SP 103 and SP 201), but by paying $80 and taking the CLEP you could earn up to 14 credits ( an in state dollar value of $4,900).

It may be worth the $80. Higher credits will put you earlier in the Course Registration and Parking permit registration for future semesters.

A spanish minor or major requires X number of courses in SP300 or higher levels, so CLEP will not help in that.

I checked my degreeworks and I got 7 credit from AP. I forgot to mention that I have a full tuition scholarship…
