Spaces Available > Waiting List Question

Hi, I'm currently 25 (last) on the waiting list for ee 40. However it says there are 38 seats available. Should I be worried? Why does this happen? I think it might have something to do with the discussion sections being full? I'd appreciate any help.

Yes. If your section is full, then you'll be on the waitlist. In this case, often the main goal is to get into section, not lecture. If you're #1 on your section's waitlist but #41 on the whole class's waitlist, then even if only one person drops in your section, you'll get in (both section and lecture). This happened to me in Math 54 just today.

It says there are 38 seats available in the lecture. However, if you add up the limits of all sections, it's less than the lecture's limit. Therefore, schedule.berkeley.edu or telebears stupidly thinks that there is room in EE 40 while in reality there isn't. This often happens, so watch out. =)

yea, I was #44 on the waitlist for Anthro 2ac, then i was automatically enrolled bc i must have been #1 in that section.

You don't have much to worry about. EE 40 is a required class and it will accommodate everybody.
