Did anyone else receive an offer of acceptance for January, with an invitation to travel to Spain or France in the fall? Not sure what to think about it.

Three people in my hall are current “Feb-Frosh” that studied abroad their first semester. One guy went to Spain, whereas the other two girls went to France. They integrate in Colby very well (in fact, everyone thinks they are fascinating) , and they always talk about wanting to go back to the place they were abroad because they loved it so much.

Hope this helps.

Thanks so much!

My daughter was admitted to Colby in 2011 for on campus start in September. She petitioned to be admitted to the Fall in France program and did that, starting in Maine in January. It was a GREAT experience. I would highly recommend this program. Integrating into the Campus in January was not a problem.

I have only heard great things about people’s travels to Spain and France - thanks! I wonder if the school would consider a petition for me to start on campus in September instead, though. I feel like I’ll miss out a lot if I don’t have that freshman fall experience. Do you think I’ll get a chance to meet the other students going before I commit?

Which program did you get invited to?

Spain! Any advice?

As a parent–I would say, “Go to Spain.”
