Spam or Admission Hints?

Have got a few invites for various UCB events:

Email from Assoc. Dean of Engr. inviting for the Celebrate Women in Engineering symposium - Mar 15

Coalition for Excellence and Diversity in Mathematics, Science, and Engineering reception - Mar 9

Thanks for applying from Assoc. Dean of Engr. with info/links for UCB Engr.

Are these just “trying to hook you” emails or hints regarding admission?

Also did anyone go to either of the above events last year? Did you find it worthwhile attending?

I'm pretty sure I got the second and third emails. However, I'm international applying for undecided engineering, so i'm 99% sure that I'm getting rejected. So I'll just take it as a hook email.

Yes, they're emails "trying to hook you."

I know how anxious senior year can be. Usually, a generic email is just a generic email. Don't read too much into it! Just wait until the end of March like I did for the decision to come.

It sounds like engineering major people got those. Of course they're trying to hook you, but as far as if that means you're already in the door... don't read too much into it.

to answer directly, it's all spam.

lol, it's like the stamfy epgy one i got after my PSAT.
