Spam posts

What is going on with the crazy number of solicitations and spam posts? The California sub forum seems to be the worst but this morning was particularly bad.

Agree! I’ve noticed the big uptick in spam over the past few days. Obviously the “new” way of signing in hasn’t helped . . .

Just reported one that was basically insane… Well… My good deed for the day. Time to get ready to go to work… Lol…

One morning I flagged too many too close to each other and I got locked out temporarily.

The other problem is being locked out if you report too many in a short time.

Why would they lock someone out for trying to help
? Maybe that needs to be changed?

@CCadmin_Sorin ?

Unfortunately this is an issue with the forum provider. Our spam filters don’t work properly, so a lot of spam content makes it onto the forums. While we are working to having this resolved, please flag anything that violates the TOS. Thanks a lot!

@CCadmin_Sorin. I think the question and other problem is when people Flagg too many times to be helpful then their accounts get locked or something like that

While @CCadmin_Sorin can respond to the oft-asked (and answered) question about locking out, please note that moderators will review a user’s entire posting history when one post is reported, so in the example of the +91 spam that has been coming in overnight for the last week or so, one only needs to report one instance of a user’s spam, so that you would not need to worry about getting locked out by reporting them all.
