Greetings. Looking for accredited, affordable and less strenuous Spanish 2 classes online. If there is a fast track option and costs more, thats fine too. Any advise will be greatly appreciated.
College level or high school level?
For high school, your own state might have an online high school program. One of my kids did Spanish 3 that way. Two semesters of high school spanish in one summer is a big commitment, though.
My daughter did it last summer through the local community college. Went fine and she enjoyed it. It was adequate prep to advance her to Spanish 3 her junior year of HS which was what she wanted. She wasn’t looking for college credit.
For about $10/hour (I cannot recall exactly but it is approx $10) online individual instruction is possible. DS took the courses on and off for several years via Proyecto Peru Centre. He started with them in eighth grade and continued. Some months he would take several lessons, otherwise he might not take lessons for several months. We would typically prepay in 10 block lessons. He took the National Spanish exam three times and got a gold and silver. He took Level 3 last week and is waiting on the results.
My spouse speaks three languages and has been surprised/disappointed at all of the kids that take language lessons for many years but cannot speak so one of the things we liked about the online lessons is that as he became more able, the lessons quickly became entirely in Spanish. His Spanish is quite decent and when we went on holiday a few years ago to the Dominican Republic, he was able to converse.
Since his summer has opened up a bit as some of his scheduled events were cancelled, we signed him up for 10 lessons that he will take over the summer before school begins even though he will not take Spanish next year.
