Spanish 277?

Does anyone have experience with this class? I took the Spanish placement test and tested out of the requirement and into this class. I've only taken three years of Spanish in high school, and didn't really feel THAT confident on the test, maybe just had some lucky guesses. I'm assuming since it's a literature and composition class that you'd have to be able to read pretty fluently and be pretty set with grammar. Can anyone tell me what I would expect with this class? I'm kind of thinking of just starting a new language...

If you tested out with only 3 years of Spanish you are either just really good at Spanish or are good at foreign languages. Spanish is a great language to either major or minor in given the demographics of the US. Why would you want to start with a new language? What to you want to major in? Good luck and GO BLUE!

I am in the exact same boat. I took AP spanish last year and got a 1 on the exam and somehow I tested into 277 as well. I wanted to continue taking spanish classes but I’m worried I was placed too high because I really can’t speak that great and I definitely don’t want to be overwhelmed

Well I’m probably majoring in an unrelated science field, but maybe double majoring or minoring in a language because I really like it. I would be well on my way to a Spanish minor if I took 277, but I don’t know how big the gap will be between what I know and what we need to know for that class. Would there even be time to major in two unrelated fields like that? Or would I be better off minoring in Spanish? And yeah, GO BLUE :)
