Spanish Class - major issues! Please help!

Hey all,

I am having major issues with my Honors Spanish 2 class. It is basically everything we learned in Spanish 1, and I have learned maybe two new vocabulary words at the max near the end of the first semester. I am trying to switch into Honors Spanish 3, and my Spanish teacher approves. However, that is during a required block (gym is at a certain time for all freshmen). I probably will not be able to get around this, though my mom and I are contacting the gym teachers to see alternatives. My Spanish teacher believes that Spanish 3 will be too low of a level for me and hurt me on transcripts, in his words.

If I am stuck in my level 2 class, does anyone have suggestions for how I can try to challenge myself while not acting like an idiot? Any online vocabulary programs recommended? Anything to give myself a challenge would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thank you!

You could explain to your teacher that you feel that you want to do more in class and he/she can give you spanish 3 work in your spanish 2 class? Few people did that in my school.

After school directed study is another option if you really want… but you’d still be stuck in spanish 2.

Thanks, RonakPat. I would really like to improve my vocab. Any suggestion?

Could you go forward in the textbook? Or if your textbook is not up-to-par, perhaps ask a friend at another school who’s at a more advanced level of Spanish what textbook he uses, and then buy this textbook and teach yourself. This might not work for grammar, but it would do for vocab.

We don’t have a textbook…our Spanish curriculum is so messed up. We use a packet each unit.
