I can usually ace anything History, Sciences, Mathematics, etc. but god dam I hate Spanish. I got my first A- in it last quarter, two tests later im down to a B-. No matter how hard I try I cannot make this class go my way. Im getting raped by accent marks, correct word placement, etc. I was still able to make it to my 4th year of spanish with an average grade of B-. Im just really venting here and curious to know anyone else share this particular frustration with spanish, foreign language, or any other class.

Same here.
Straight A’s in everything else, straight Bs in Spanish. However, last semester I got a C+, oh well.

Just stick with it if you like it. Even though I don’t ace it, I am minoring in Spanish in college because I love it so much.

I feel like that about Mandarin. I still have an A, but it’s only because I do well on quizzes and tests, which don’t require speaking skills. Every time I do a speaking assignment, I lose so many points for improper tones and word spacing. -sigh-

My teacher told me once: “You speak Chinese like a Japanese person.” on my midterm speaking test. .___.

I honestly don’t feel like I’m sounding Japanese when I speak Chinese…

I’m usually so good with accents…but apparently Chinese is not for me.

I’ll stick with my Japanese in college thanks. ><

is your teacher hard? or is it just learning it? because i know this sounds really corny but try listening to those spanish cds that you can check out of the library… they really help there was even one that told you how to spell the words correctly and i went from like a b+ to an A+ :)
