Alright, I have an appealing college profile. I’ve sent off my applications to a handful of top-tiered schools, a good amount of quality schools, and a few backup schools. The question thats been wracking my mind is - how important is my lack of Spanish?
I took Spanish 1 in 8th grade, Spanish 2 as a freshman, and dropped it from there. I got my required two years, and left it at that. On the outside, it looks like I dropped Spanish so I could double up in Sciences (So - Chem and Bio, Jr - AP Chem and Phys, Sr - AP Bio AP Phys). The reality is I just hated the subject in a high school setting.
I got a 36 on my ACT, my GPA is 3.96 unweighted, I’m a national merit finalist, I finished 2nd and 3rd in State for Mathematics for the past two years, I qualified for the AIME, and ever since So. year I’ve been attending the community college nearby dually-enrolled taking math classes. I’m just finishing up a semester on Real Analysis, and have completed DiffEq and Calc III. Like 5 AP’s with 5’s, and 4 more this year that are expected 5’s.
Will this make up for my spanish deficit? Or will top-tiered schools deny my because I didn’t take the usual 4+. Honest answers, I can definitely deal with a “NO”
