Any recommendations/warnings/stories about summer programs for high schoolers with a Spanish laguage focus? The internet is full of programs -- how do you judge the safety and quality of a program? I don't expect my d to be fluent after 3 weeks. I do want her to have a good experience -- meeting people from other states/countries, living in a different environment, etc. Programs with coupled with service learning (but not religion-based) would be of interest, too. I'm thinking Costa Rice...

Daughter went with Amerispan (Enforex) twice. She enjoyed it.

It isn’t abroad, but Concordia Language Villages are excellent. My kids went for a total of 10 times (between the 2 of them), although not for Spanish for sessions ranging from 1 week to 1 month (for hs credit).
