Spanish Major??

I'm thinking about doing a Bachelor of Science in Spanish, a minor in international business and earning a nonprofit leadership certificate.
I am just starting my junior year of college, but am mostly focusing on my minor and certificate this semester (so no credits lost really as I would still be doing the same minor and certificate no matter the major) and so still have time to change from my communications major which I am not enjoying at all and just don't think will work out for me.

I had a chance to spend 9 days in Lima, Peru in July and realized just how much I love learning about other cultures and how much I love and miss learning a foreign language and culture (I took two years of Chinese in high school). I also have been reading a lot about how Spanish is a very important language world wide and growing, employers value bilingualism, etc.

I would like to pursue librarianship work (either at a lower level without an MLS, or later earning a MLS and becoming a reference librarian...haven't really decided, however, I do currently work in a library and do have experience which will help), nonprofit, or office type work such as in college admissions one day. I have also thought about spending a few years (or maybe longer) working in South America with a missions organization.
Does this sound like a good plan?
Any advice or experience to share?

I'd appreciate anything you have to offer. Thank you

How about a technical communication major instead?
And then possibly self studying Spanish on the side? (though I would imagine that would be harder to get to know the language)…
Any advice?
