Spanish National Honors Society

Hey I was thinking about trying to get it in my school. First, would it help my college resume? Second, what activities do you do at your school for it? Also if you are student president what are your responsibilities?

Thanks any info helps a lot.

Hi branderson925, well to start, I am in Mu Altha Theta at my school. I just got in Sophmore year. Thats all the clubs i am in for now.. Also i am in the praise band at my church for a mission trip. Been playing acoustic guitar for 1 year, basketball for 5 years. Hows that for a college application?

Yeah I don't know what that has to do with Spanish National Honor Society?

spanish honors society is like a wannabe nhs at our school. Its huge (think there about 300 members) and we have to get points for tutoring, volunteering, fundraising..it sucks, pretty pointless
to get in, you just need an A average for 3 semesters of spanish.

woah,300 members... Can you join the club if your a sophmore? If yes, is it possible to become president?

yeah, if you get As freshman year and the first semester sophomore year you can join..thats where most of the members come from, but its impossible to be president in your junior year, its reserved for seniors, and you can only run for an office if you are enrolled in a spanish class for the next year.
You get kicked out if you dont get your points every semester

my school doesnt have one but i wish they did

My school has National Language Honor Society. It includes Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, and American Sign Language takers.

I am in the National Latin Honors Society and we don't do anything; it's just a title that you've had straight A's. There are only about 10 kids in it from my huge school, so I guess that is prestigious. It depends, if it is hard to get into and you do a lot for it, have your adviser write you a letter of recommendation to verify that to the colleges; that's what I did.
