I am a junior and preparing to take the Math II and US History tests in June. However, I am torn on whether I should take spanish or biology. I do very well in Spanish, and have never gotten a grade lower than a 97 in a class. Science, on the other hand, is harder for me, and I have gotten a couple Bs in chem/bio. I am in AP Bio now. If I get a 5 on the AP exam, and a 750+ on the SAT II for Bio, do you think these scores could somewhat compensate for mediocre grades? I don't plan on majoring in anything science-related whatsoever. I am applying to Ivies and a lot of top 20 schools. Thanks~

Not to be annoying, but bump please. This is kind of urgent and I can’t contact my guidance counselor for a week.

I mean you could just pick one and take which ever one you don’t take now in the fall…

I would but I need to retake the SAT Reasoning in October and I don’t want to push any test dates further than that because I want to apply early. This is the first and final time for me to take the SAT subject tests

Do the schools you’re applying to have any preference? Some like a test in each of a few subject areas. Otherwise I’m tempted to say Spanish, because you’re already going to be taking the AP Bio test, so the Spanish would show competence in an additional area

I would think they want a variety of subjects, not just concentrated in one area. Do the adcoms take the spanish SAT as kind of a joke like they do for the Math I? Is it on the same level of importance as the bio SAT?

Bump
