Spanish Placement Exam

So, I’ve taken a few years of Spanish and I continue to use Duolingo to keep sharp.
I need to take the placement exam and I’m nervous. Did anyone take it recently?
Listening comprehension has always been my worst part of Spanish… it’s such a quick language. If there are listening portions, I hope they aren’t too difficult. I’m also a little shaky with past tense.
I am not going to study or anything, I just want to have my expectations in order. Should those few years be alright?

Thanks.

My D is a non-native speaker who took AP Spanish in senior year of HS. She did not study at all before the placement exam. She got credits from her AP score (5) as well as from the placement exam. How is your Spanish skill compared with AP?

I’m not exactly sure what the AP level is… but probably not comparable, haha. I took two years of Spanish and continue to practice with Duolingo and podcasts. I know basic structure, 50-75 verbs, verb tenses… I guess you could say a step above conversational Spanish?

By the way, thank you for your response! Any more responses would be helpful. I would like to have my expectations in order, is all.

My S tested out of the LSA language requirement and received no college credit. The test either places you in a appropriate level class or waves your need to take any foreign language classes. He took 4 years of H.S. Spanish and said the test was not hard. Fourth-term proficiency in a language other than English is required in LSA and they have different ways to complete the requirement.
