Spanish placement test

Does anyone know how the spanish placement test compares to the sat II test? I took the sat II a couple months ago without taking spanish courses the past few years, and I came a few points shy of what I wanted.

Has anyone taken both?

i took both. the departmental exam is your basic grammar, vocab, reading comprehension stuff. my sat IIs got me a higher placement though and my ap score completely exempted me from the exam. so in short, i did worse on my departmental exam and i think its bc i took it during the summer when i was already out of school for like 2.5 months where as the SAT IIs and ap tests were taken while i was taking a spanish class in school, but if you scored decently on the SAT IIs after not taking spanish for a few years, then you should do fine on the departmental exam.

For reference, I scored a 3 on this year’s Spanish Lang AP exam and a 408 on the placement exam, which is in the lower end to place into 130. A little disappointed.

are there oral or auditory components (to dept exam)? Those would absolutely kill me
